I’m back on track! This week I was strong in my routine and it paid off! Today is my weigh-in!This week, I was back on track in terms of my daily exercise commitment. FINALLY! After being super concerned last week about a possible injury from my new activities, I ceased my workouts until I went to the doctor. After x-rays and a full exam, I was cleared to resume exercising! You can read all about that right here. Monday was my first physical therapy session, and I am so glad my doctor prescribed four sessions!

Temptation. Gosh, I am always tempted with tailgate and party foods….they’re my faves if you hadn’t noticed.
Last Saturday night, we had a family birthday party for my mother in law. Her birthday is approaching, and the stars aligned so we were all in town together to celebrate!
My sister in law (Daphne) and I decided to divvy up party foods…she brought a GORGEOUS birthday cake for her mom along with her AMAZING spinach dip. Seriously, she makes a really mean spinach dip! It has literally become a staple at family gatherings.
I brought Bourbon Meatball Appetizers and a Cheddar Ranch Dip. Both of these (and maybe Daphne’s dip!) will be on the blog soon. Let’s just say that Saturday was my cheat day! Daphne’s husband Donny, whose hand is pictured below, gave the meatballs his seal of approval! If you want to know all about me, Copa, Daphne & Donny, read this. Yes, I’m giving you lots of family details! 🙂 But, you also get to check out Loose Meat Tavern Sandwiches, so at the end of the day, it’s a bonus read. For realz.
I cheated. I seriously, unequivocally, shamelessly enjoyed my cheat day. Yep! Every. Last. Bite.
Meatballs. Cheddar Ranch Dip. Daphne’s Spinach Dip. Chips. And, a glass of vino. PAR-TAY!
Guess what, the next day, I put on my big girl pants and got my self in gear!
If you look really close, and I mean REALLY close, you can see the beginnings of muscle definition in my left leg. It’s a rare citing, folks! Real, firm, muscle. It may be taking some time, but it is building up and I’ve never felt better!
I always want to share a real life stat with you each week, and here is a sample of my sleep pattern Monday night. SO interesting, I know…but sleep is an important part of a weight-loss program. That, and lots of exercise!
This always makes me giggle….you can easily see at which point in the night my sweet kitty Smokey is curled up RIGHT next to my head. I always think I sleep better when she’s close by, but the proof is in the pudding. If you are wondering, precious Smokey knows better than to wander over to Copa’s side of the bed! 🙂
So, at the end of this week, I lost one pound.
Am I excited? Disappointed?
I am THRILLED! 🙂 To date, I’ve lost a total of 5 pounds in my first full month. I saw a number on the scale this morning that I have not seen in a lonnnnngggg time. I feel like I am making changes that are healthy and will be long lasting.

One reader pointed out that she was glad to see that my main Weigh-In Wednesday graphic shows my feet as-is…sans pedicure. You know what? She’s right. It’s called real, real life.
