Hallelujah! Today is the last day in My 12 Week Weight loss Journey….
You guys have been with me for TWELVE WEEKS.
I love you. I want to cook for you and tailgate with you!
Seriously, we’ve been through Mother’s Day together, Memorial Day Weekend, Father’s Day, the 4th of July…AND our Vegas Vacation! My friend Lisa over at Cluttercafe started a weight loss journey, too. Go check out her story!
Weight loss is very personal.
I’ve been pretty candid that my weight loss was slower than I originally anticipated, but pounds gone are POUNDS GONE! My goal was to loose 10 pounds in 12 weeks.
As of Saturday morning, I was right on track to loose those last two pounds. As a matter fact, between last Wednesday and Saturday, I lost a pound! Yep, I was excited! SO CLOSE.
And then, right as we were packing up Saturday morning for an overnight beach getaway, I began to feel unwell. So much so, I pushed back our ETD so I could run over to the neighborhood urgent care. I was fine, but the doctor confirmed that some medicine and a few days resting (i.e. NO EXERCISE) would be beneficial.
Dadgummit.
I’d planned a nice, long beach walk with Cee Cee to counteract the calories I would of course consume on my cheat day.
Guess what? Let’s add to this every expanding equation…….
Saturday was my predetermined cheat day.
How could it not be?!? Not only were we going to the beach during Shark Week, Saturday was the Wine Walk at a nearby seaside town.
UGH.
No exercise.
For a girl that shied away from exercise before starting this journey, the thought of missing a few days was a tough pill to swallow.
Decisions, decisions. I decided to go with my gut (no pun intended) and enjoy the day & evening. We had scrumptious food, sampled incredible wine, and enjoyed the ocean. You saw our weekend play out on Instagram I am sure.
And now, this morning, I am officially announcing….
A VICTORY LAP!
Yes, I’m going one more week!!! I’m so close to my goal.
I could quit, I could stretch the truth (could anyone truly tell by looking at me that I was 1 pound away from my goal?!?!) or I could take this little challenge one step further.
#GAMEON
See ya next week – same time, same place!
And 10 pounds lighter.
xoxo,
Heather
P.S. – If summer travel is still on your horizon, and you are headed southbound into Florida, you might want to read about this rest stop!
P.P.S- As of yesterday, I’m cleared to exercise and I’m ready to say hi again to Jillian Michaels – 30 Day Shred. Best $7 I ever spent.
