Confession: Last week our family went on an AMAZING summer vacation. We ate (a ton!), relaxed, and renewed our hearts & souls. Keep reading to see a few pics, and to see if I lost or gained weight while in Las Vegas!
Yes, we went to Las Vegas, NV and Utah. It was the perfect family vacation for us…..tons of sightseeing, some hiking, and great meals! Oh, and our daughter is over 21. 🙂
I was really nervous about stepping on the scale this morning. During our vacation, I did not enter anything into my food diary. EVERY day was a cheat day. It was glorious! Take a peek:
Yes, Guy’s burger was not only loaded with bacon, but that’s homemade, classic mac & cheese poking out from underneath the bun! I ate the fries, too. 🙂
We also went to FIZZ, Elton John’s new champagne bar in Caesar’s Palace. Divine!
Sorry for the poor photo quality on the FIZZ pic…..it was super dark…AND a celebrity rapper was in front of us for the duration of our visit. I was trying to keep the cell phone on the down low to respect his privacy.
Even though I ate in the most carefree manor ever, we were doing a lot of walking each and every day. I was hoping the exercise would balance all the calories & fat I was ingesting every few hours!
See that river bed? See those folks in the water? That is where we were! We hiked The Narrows at Zion National Park in Utah. We hiked on a super rocky river bed with ankle deep (sometimes knee deep) rushing water. I think I burned the most calories that day!
So, the moment of truth was inevitable. I didn’t want to let you down this week! At the same time though, I did not want to deprive myself while on vacation. What fun is that?!?!
I’ve never been soooooo nervous to step on the scale. But guess what? NO WEIGHT GAIN. I didn’t lose weight, but I did not gain one single ounce while on vacation! Tears. Sheer tears of joy and a big shout “I didn’t gain weight” was heard through our home at the break of dawn.
What does this mean?
Today is my next to the last post in My 12 Week Weight-loss Challenge. I have exactly one week to two lose pounds to reach my goal of an overall loss of 20 pounds.
