I officially completed Week 1 – whew! I’ll share how much I lost in a sec….
If you want to know what I am doing to loose weight, click here and I’ll tell you my game plan.
Last week, I mentioned I was anticipating a few hurdles during my month long fitness re-boot. Guess what? BOTH happened in the same week!
My Weight-loss Challenges This Week:
- We had to put down my sweet cat, Miss Smokey. Click here to read all about it…..I was heartbroken. So much so that I actually wretched in the parking lot outside of the veterinary hospital following the procedure. I ate light all week after that incident.
Usually I stress eat big time in dire circumstances. Our house is so quiet without my girl; this is one time my appetite left me.
- Over the weekend, we did at stay-cation at Universal Studios! Our friends invited us to an 80’s cover band concert at the House of Blues at Disney Springs. Copa felt like our family could use a little fun and relaxation after such a yucky week, so we booked a room at Aventura Hotel!
Saturday night, the three of us had a pre-concert cocktail at Bar 17 Bistro, a roof top bar on top of the Aventura.
Because vacations, even mini ones, mean lots of yummy foods….right?!?
After the cocktail, we met our friends for dinner at the House of Blues. It is an eclectic restaurant with a delish smokehouse.
You will be proud of me! Instead of over indulging, Cat & I split a hamburger & fries. 🙂 The serving was substantial, and neither one of us wanted a huge meal.
Relaxing at DisneySprings with our friends was the perfect way to spend a Saturday night. The concert was SO MUCH FUN!
Sunday morning, we checked out of the Aventura and headed to Islands of Adventures…..Harry Potter World was beckoning us!
We ate lunch first, and again Cat & I split a meal – this time we had chicken fingers & fries. We dove into them before I could get a picture, however Copa’s burger was available for a quick pic!
We did not stay long at Universal- maybe an hour and a half? I felt like I was coming down with something , so we headed home early.
How I Did With Eating & Exercise
Food: I did not track my meals as closely as I did in my previous weight loss journey because I was pretty upset all week about Smokey. I would put on a brave face during the day, then I would come home to an empty master bedroom and bawl my eyes out.
BUT, I really modified and watched over consumption during our weekend away, so I’m happy with that.
This week, I’m back on the tracking train!
I’m thinking about upgrading my scale, by the way.
My friend showed me herbluetooth and body fat composition scale, and I was IMPRESSED. Knowing my body fat ratio is key to me right now.
Exercise: I went walking on Monday and did really well! It had been a few months since I’ve been cleared to walk at a pace requiring exertion.
And, I walked a TON at over the weekend.
Exercise is tricky for me due to my commute, so I need to focus on making it a priority this week. I mean, the whole point of me doing this weightloss journey is to give myself a fitness re-boot!
Drumroll…..I lost 1.25 pounds in Week 1! All in all, that’s a win after this crazy week!
