Today, each of us are sharing our favorite Christmas beverages or beverage serving ideas. I can’t wait to share my new favorite cocktail with you! It’s a…
Earlier this fall, I spent an amazing 48 Hours in Kansas City and stayed The Hilton President Hotel. I am a history buff, so of course I wandered downstairs to the hotel’s famed Drum Room where Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller frequented back in the day. It was tiny, retro, and it was PERFECT. The bartender made me a bourbon craft cocktail that was delicious! Truth be told, I do not drink spirits very often….bourbon tastings at the distillery.. yes. Actually having a cocktail with bourbon, no. However, after having the Drum Room cocktail, I have a new appreciation for bourbon cocktails!
The cocktail was seemed simple: good bourbon, blackberry’s and lemon juice. There might have been more (or less!) ingredients in the original, but my version is pretty darn close! Not only was the cocktail smooth and refreshing, the brilliant, jeweled color dazzles during the holidays!
When setting out to recreate my version, I purchased frozen blackberries.
How pretty are these?!? They are plump and pretty – great for garnishing!
First, muddle a few blackberries in the bottom of a cocktail glass. Then, mix the bourbon and sweetened lemon juice in a cocktail shaker, and finally, pour over crushed ice. Garnish as desired! Enjoy!
Merry Christmas!
