There are many versions of Homemade Taco Seasoning out there – this combo of spices is HANDS DOWN the BEST!
Your Playbook for
Homemade Taco Seasoning
- Make sure your spices are fresh. Old or expired spices will alter the outcome of your seasoning.
- Use 2 tablespoons per pound of ground round beef or 12 ounces shredded cooked chicken.
- Conversion to make tacos: Use 2 tablespoons of this mix per pound of hamburger meat.
Making Tacos With Your
Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix
- Brown ground beef in a skillet on medium heat. When the meat browns, drain it and return skillet back to stove.
- Add 2 tbs Homemade Taco Seasoning mix and 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a quick boil, then turn the heat down to low and stir. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes, then fill your taco shells!

How To Make Homemade Taco Seasoning
Ingredients
- 1 tbs Chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp papkrika
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/4 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp Onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Mix spices together in a bowl until well blended. Store in an airtight container.
