Copa & I met our friends for Saturday night supper at The Boathouse in Disney Springs, followed by a concert at the House of Blues. Hey, living in Orlando has its perks!
Come on along & join us for our date night at Disney Springs!
I thought I’d share our Disney Springs mini stay-cation with you, because like many tailgaters, you may find yourself in Orlando for the college football December Bowl Games. It IS the most wonderful time of the year! 🙂 And, if you are in Orlando, you might just be wondering…..
Where to Eat at Disney Springs | The Boathouse
The Boathouse boasts a clever nautical design with indoor and outdoor seating options. You can dine directly over the water on the outdoor deck! I didn’t snap any photos of the deck area because it was so dang hot outside.
Our group was immediately seated and we had the BEST surprise when we arrived at our table! Our sweet friends from North Carolina flew in for the weekend and were waiting for us! Great company, fabulous meal. Date Night was off to a great night, and much tamer than Steve Carell’s infamous Date Night
The menu naturally featured fresh seafood. The children’s menu even listed salmon as an option for tiny sailors!
I ordered panko-fried Atlantic cod with french fries; Copa had the jumbo crab cake. Even though my 12 Week Weight loss Journey is done (hallelujah!) I am still being careful with my food choices. This was my cheat meal & worth each and every bite! Not to mention, I walked over 12K steps at Disney Springs, so I knew I would burn off extra calories.
My fish was served in a rustic bucket – how cute is that?!? Of course, in true Orlando style, the restaurant has its very own gift shop! We were impressed with the quality of the garments and other items.
I felt an urge to run back to my car and turn on Yacht Rock Radio on Sirius XM, but I maintained composure and we headed to the House of Blues for the second part of our date night…the concert!
Disney Springs Date Night Part II
Seeing the 1980’s cover band, The Molly Ringwald’s, is now a tradition! For the past few years, our great group of friends gather for dinner at Disney Springs, then we walk over to the House of Blues to listen to our fave ’80’s tunes!
Of course, there was “that guy” in the crowd screaming for U2 (he’s everywhere, right?) and I was keeping my fingers crossed for a Scorpion’s mix! #BigCityNights
The concert ended, and we all said good bye. Copa & I made the weekend a little stay-cation, so we passed back by the Boathouse on the way to our hotel. This was the PERFECT night! Our family traveled a lot this summer , and it was so nice to stay in town for a change of pace. Orlando is a wonderful hometown!
