Game Plan: Crack Chicken Dip
You guys, this could be the only dip you need for home-gating parties! This is such a crowd pleaser. It is a hit at bunco parties, potlucks, holiday gatherings, and New Year’s Eve. The house smells SO GOOD as this rich, cheesy, warm dip cooks! Hot Onion Dip is great severed next to Crack Chicken Dip, especially for vegetarians.
We had friends over for cocktails, and one of the husbands dubbed this dip “Alabama Crack Dip” since I am from Alabama and this dip is seriously addictive! I heard several time “Heather, pass some of that Alabama Crack Dip over here”!
The Players on the Field
- Cooked chicken (I use canned chicken for convenience. Leftover rotisserie works well, too.)
- Cream cheese (full fat works best)
- Sour cream (Again, full fat rather than light sour cream yields the best flavor.)
- Cheddar cheese (Freshly grated cheese melts better for a creamier dip than pre-shredded cheese which is coated in preservatives. I LOVE the short cut of pre-shredded cheese in tacos, etc. But for baking, freshly grated just melts much better!)
- Packet of dry ranch dressing mix
- Green onions
- Onion powder
