Hey there! I am soooo glad you stopped by today. I’m am THRILLED to participate in this special Cookies for Kids’ Cancer Valentine’s event (again!). This is the fifth year for our event and we want to continue to make a difference in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Let’s jump in the game with…..
Chocolate Covered Oreo Pops for Valentine’s Day!
You probably remember that I had a brush with cancer myself. Well, ok…..it was more than just a “brush”….I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lobular Breast Cancer at age 46. Only 10 % of all breast cancer patients have lobular – it does not form a lump! Yep- who knew? (You can check out my story here. )
Which is why I am here today being a Good Cookie…..I cannot begin to imagine how difficult it must be for families who are battling pediatric cancer with their child. So, I am joining other influencers to help drive awareness to this cause! Psst: Here’s ANOTHER good cookie (see what I did there?) recipe- my Soft Batch Chocolate Chip Cookies w/a secret ingredient!
Cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S. There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. The National Cancer Institute’s budget for childhood cancer is less than 4%. It’s such a small number and that’s why I got involved and why I donated here!
It’s imperative that we raise awareness and continue to raise funds to fund the ongoing pediatric cancer research!
Help us make a difference by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer!
A HUGE thank you to the three sponsors above – have each pledged to match our donations raised through this campaign up to $3000! That means when we raise $1,
it turns into $4!

The Playbook for Chocolate Covered Oreo Pops for Valentine’s Day
First, take the tops off the Oreos and melt a few candy melts in a small bowl.
PRO TIP: Carve out a little bit of the icing with the lollipop stick. This will help the cookie stay flat when you put the top back on.
Dip the lollipop stick in the warm, melted chocolate and place in the groove where you carved out the icing.
You are almost done! Replace the top on the Oreo, then put ’em back in the fridge until set.
While the cookies are setting in the refrigerator, melt more of the chocolate candy melts in a microwavable safe bowl. Cover the Oreo pops with chocolate, decorate, & refrigerate until set!
I added these these edible sprinkles “>edible sanding pearls, and also experimented with different colors of chocolate candy melts!
Touchdown! Here’s the Cross-Section Photo:
Thank you to so many of you who have already donated, please help us reach our goal so we can get the full matching donations and help us make an even huge difference!
I hope you join me – Please DONATE HERE to be a Good Cookie! 🙂
WAIT! We are in OVERTIME!

Chocolate Covered Oreo Pops for Valentine's Day
Ingredients
- 1 family size 1lb package Oreo cookies
- 1 or 2 pounds Candy melts You can use different colors!
- Assorted sprinkles
- Lollipop sticks
Instructions
- Remove the tops of the Oreo cookies and set aside. Remove a little bit of the icing to give enough space for the top of the lollipop stick to snuggly fit inside.
- In a small microwave safe bowl, melt a few of the candy melt wafers. You will need to melt in 5-10 second intervals, stirring in between each interval, to make sure the candy is melting and not burning.
- Dip the tip of a lollipop stick in the melted chocolate and then place it in the groove where you removed the icing. Replace the Oreo cookie top on top of the icing with the stick. Refrigerate until set. While the cookies are setting, melt more candy melt wafers in a medium size microwavable bowl. Heat according to package directions, or in increments of 10 seconds, stirring in between intervals. Dip cookie pops into melted chocolate, and set on wax paper or on parchment paper. Decorate as desired. Once decorated, refrigerate for 15 minutes or until set.
