Buffalo wings, bacon, ranch dip, cheese, cheese and more cheese? All balanced out with a side of crisp celery and a swish of cold beer. Buffalo Chicken Stuffed French bread just screams TOUCHDOWN!
Of course, you already know how much I love chicken wings AND Buffalo Chicken Dip. These key tailgate players were brought into play with this appetizer.
The recipe calls for one loaf of French bread; select the freshest loaf possible. Once the loaf is prepared, you will fill the shell with cheesy, spicy, game day goodness. To prepare the loaf, you will split it down the middle and carefully remove the soft bread interior leaving you with two French bread “boats”. We made this on a Monday night for a quick, easy school night/NFL supper. One loaf will feed four easily if you want to make this a supper. Or, as an appetizer, you can yield 10 servings. This is one game day appetizer that calls for a fork & knife….it can be hand held but have lots of napkins ready!
Take It To The Tailgate Tip: Make a double batch of the filling and bacon. Freeze both separately in freezer friendly zip loc bags. On game day, prep your fresh loaves of French bread and defrost the bacon & filling. Fill and back as directed.
