To be honest, I have been dreading today’s weigh-in. I’m not sure I made as much progress as last week. But, it is Weigh-in Wednesday: Week 3 of My Weight Loss Journey, so let’s do this!
I have officially completed two full weeks in my weight loss journey! Week two was harder for me, as the initial newness of starting a program began to fade. Would I still log my food everyday in My Fitness Pal? How would I continue with my motivation to work out? Most importantly, what would I eat on my cheat day?!?!
Weigh-in Wednesday:
Week 3 of My Weight Loss Journey
So, yes….I logged my food every single day. And, I exercised four out of seven days. I definitely did not hit my goal there, but four days is a VAST improvement from before I started this program.
I started My 12 Week Weight Loss Challenge to boost my health (and let’s face it, my dress size!) before tailgate season cranks up this fall. If you want to see how much weight I lost after Week 1 and moved into Week 2 (it was a lot!) click here.
To keep my sanity, I am giving myself a cheat day each week. Drum roll please….my cheat day this week included:Oh my gosh…..these chicken lettuce wraps were SO worth a cheat day! On Friday, Cee Cee and I went out to lunch at a popular, quaint Asian restaurant in downtown Orlando. It was the perfect way to start the weekend! We lingered over lunch, laughed and enjoyed a sumptuous meal. That evening, I had a glass of vino, tacos (homemade to save us all on calories/fat grams) and two scoops of frozen yogurt. If you’re going to have a cheat day, do it right!
Not only did I cheat on Friday, I also skipped exercising that day, too. So, Friday was a double whammy.
To make up for that exercise deficit, I made sure on Saturday to get my 7000 steps done – I love how my Garmin vívosmart tracks steps. It also notifies my when I get a like on Instagram, a snap on Snapchat, or if a call is coming in on my phone! 🙂 BTW, I’m sharing daily updates on Instagram Stories…be nosy and take a peak! So, how much weight did I lose with a MEGA cheat day and limited exercise?
As of 6:27 a.m. today, I lost a half a pound since last Wednesday. Let’s be clear, I was hoping for more but I did not stick to my exercise schedule this week. All in all, I’ve lost 5 pounds in two weeks, so I’m STILL on track to lose weight because I’m averaging 2 lbs a week. According to experts, this is a healthy target. Yay me!
Today, I am officially starting Week 3, and I am more motivated than ever! Of course, this weekend is Memorial Day Weekend, which is always full of grilling, yummy side dishes and good times! For me, this also means extra time to exercise with Copa and Cee Cee; I’m aiming for balance!
Check back with me next Wednesday for a detailed report AND my weigh-in!
